What is CLEX Legal?
CLEX Legal is compliance management software for Indian businesses. It works out which laws apply to each organisation and unit, turns them into dated obligations with an owner, a maker and a checker, and keeps tamper-evident evidence and an audit trail ready for any inspection.
See the productWho is CLEX Legal for?
It is for businesses that must keep track of statutory compliance across one or more places — factories, manufacturers, retailers and similar organisations — for compliance firms that run compliance for clients, and for vendors who must show their own compliance to the businesses they serve.
SolutionsHow does CLEX Legal know which laws apply to my business?
Each law in the library states the states it covers, the industries and types of organisation it is for, and conditions such as a number of employees. CLEX Legal compares that with the facts you give about each organisation and unit and shows what applies, what does not and why.
Legislation libraryWhat happens when a law changes?
A newer version is published beside the old one, and the workspaces that follow the law are told. You can read a comparison and the release note, and move when you are ready. A published version is never edited, so what was recorded under it stays true.
Legislation libraryWhat is the maker–checker principle?
Maker–checker is a control that requires two different people for one action: a maker prepares or submits it and a checker independently reviews and approves it. CLEX Legal enforces it, so the person who did the work can never approve it.
Maker–checker approvalsHow does CLEX Legal protect compliance evidence?
Evidence is immutable, content-addressed and versioned, and is opened only through short-lived signed links. A correction is a new version and the earlier one remains, so a record cannot be quietly changed after the fact.
Evidence and audit trailWhat is a tamper-evident audit trail?
A tamper-evident audit trail is a log written so that changing or removing an entry can be detected later. In CLEX Legal each entry is written in the same step as the change it records and carries a hash that includes the previous entry's, and the chain can be verified from the Reports page.
Evidence and audit trailCan my compliance consultant work inside my workspace?
Yes. You give a verified compliance firm a whole legislation, or only some of its items, from the legislation's own page. They see and do only what you gave them, under the same maker–checker rules, and you can withdraw it at any time.
For compliance firmsDoes CLEX Legal give legal advice?
No. The library and the knowledge articles are working guidance for your team, not legal advice. Confirm the details against the current text of the law and your State's rules before you rely on them, and take advice from a qualified professional where it matters.
Knowledge libraryDoes CLEX Legal use AI?
AI is used only to help the platform's own team draft legislation from an Act and its Rules, and its output is advisory: it is stored separately, a person reviews it, and nothing is applied automatically. Your workspace's records are not changed by AI.
Can I manage several locations and organisations?
Yes. A workspace can hold several organisations, each with units — plants, shops, offices — and applicability, owners and figures are kept per place. A unit can be closed on a date, set aside or moved without losing its history.
Legislation libraryIs the CLEX Legal knowledge library free to read?
Yes. The guides, checklists, training notes and Act summaries published by the CLEX Legal team are open to everyone, with no sign-in, on this website.
Read the knowledge libraryHow do I sign in or get access?
Sign in from this website at the product's sign-in page. A workspace administrator adds teammates by email invitation, each with a role, and every person accepts the Terms of Use the first time they sign in.
